Even though I have found that I can type fairly fast on the iPad’s touch screen keyboard, I have not been able to type very accurately while looking away. The lack of tactile feedback forces users to constantly stare at the screen and keys to ensure 100% accuracy. My biggest pet peeve for electronics has to be fingerprints. A nice and shiny screen must be present for every electronic item I own. Unfortunately, this often leads to using a shirt (be it mine or my friend’s or the random stranger’s) to polish those ugly imperfections away. In high school, my favorite subject was Physics. Observing everyday phenomenon and assigning values to it such as the acceleration due to gravity or the centripetal force simply fascinated me. Of course, Physics was not everyone’s cup of tea. Our big project at the end of the year was to build a Rube Goldberg machine that would water a plant. The challenge of designing, building, redesigning, and re-building had me hooked. It was a fun project, and although a lot of work, it was well worth the countless hours spent. When I found Casey’s Contraptions, memories of this project flooded my mind as a navigated through the various levels. When I first got my iPad, the very first app that I looked for was a Twitter app. Thankfully I didn’t have a hard time choosing since there were only few Twitter apps for iPad available that time. The app of choice was of course Twitterific, already a popular Twitter app for the iPhone. For its iPad version, Twitterific was able to bring all the great features of the iPhone app plus some new goodies, thanks to the large screen real estate of the iPad. continue reading »
If you own an iPhone and you’re a photography enthusiast, you must have downloaded several photo editing apps already. One of those apps is probably Photogene which just made it way to the iPad. Obviously the iPad doesn’t have a camera, but the high res screen still makes it more fun to edit photos here than on the iPhone. continue reading »
ToDo for iPad is a great to-do or task manager app. Actually “great” may be an understatement because the app is loaded with useful features and has very nice looking interface that will help you keep a tab on the things you need to do.
The app’s main interface mimics the look and feel of the traditional planner. This works positively towards making you appreciate the app and also contributes to the app’s usability. continue reading »
